Javier Barrera, Vice President of New Business, Grupo Posadas
Javier Barrera, an economist from the Independent Technology Institute of Mexico (ITAM), is the Chief Executive of New Business for Grupo Posadas. During his 19 years at Grupo Posadas, Barrera has led some of the company's most influential businesses. He directed the launch and administration of the Fiesta Americana Vacation Club in 1998--a successful business unit that marked the company's entrance into the vacation property market. He has also led Posadas' strategic planning and marketing efforts for more than eight years and managed the company's product development. In addition, Barrera helped to pioneer--and has continued to manage--the Fiesta Rewards loyalty program. Barrera has a broad range of experience in developing and implementing strategic planning initiatives. In 2007, he developed several innovative business concepts that he now oversees. The list includes: • Altiuspar: Hotel management software systems • Ampersand: Loyalty programs administration • Konexo: Contact management and data center • GloboGo: Online travel agency (OTA) • Conectum: Shared services center for digital administration Barrera has been a member of the Grupo Posadas Executive Committee and Administrative Council since 1993. He has an MBA from Tulane University and was awarded the Banamex National Prize in Economics, in 1986.
Fernando Vives
Xotels Revenue Management & Distribution En Mayo de 2006, Fernando Vives fue nombrado Vice Presidente de Desarrollo de Negocio de Xotels, Ltd. Consultoría Internacional especializada en Revenue Management y Distribución. Anteriormente, Fernando ocupó el cargo de Director de Revenue Management para el Centro y Sur de España de Sol Meliá Hotels and Resorts. Durante más de 10 años Fernando ha estado vinculado al área de Revenue Management, habiendo ejercicio responsabilidades al respecto en el Hotel Hesperia Madrid, donde fue miembro del equipo de apertura, y en el Hotel Ritz de Madrid. Paralelamente, fue miembro desde 2003 hasta 2006 del International Advisory Board de The Leading Hotels of the World. Fernando es diplomado en Turismo, Master en Dirección Hotelera por la UPM y dispone de un diploma en Revenue Management por Cornell University.
Carrie Ann Davidson is the Director of Market Management for Spain and Portugal for Expedia PSG. She joined Expedia in November 2004, and since then has led the development of the Spain and Portugal product for the company with a team of 26 people in 08 locations throughout Iberia. Before joining Expedia, Carrie held various successful positions with Gta including Regional Manager for Spain and Portugal based in Madrid and also Vice President for North America opening both the New York and Los Angeles offices and building their American hotel and destination services portfolio from zero. She received a Bachelor Degree in Economics and Modern Languages from the University of Coventry

Marc Galbis is CRM Strategy Director for Sol Meliá Hotels & Resorts. He was appointed as CRM Strategy Director to support one of key areas of the new strategic plan, developing a CRM capacity that will allow SolMelia to become a Customer Centric Organisation. Prior to this appointment, he was the responsible for Business Intelligence and Yield Management areas, and was heavily involved in the improvement and upgrading of the Sol Meliá CRS and PMS systems. Chris FradinDirector, Marketing - Europe, Middle East & Africa Preferred Hotel Group Chris joined Preferred Hotel Group in 2006 and was tasked with driving the organisation´s marketing programmes across EMEA and championing the PHG brand standards and marketing orientation with new employees and new hotels. As a highly experienced and CIM qualified marketing professional, with ten years of solid business experience, Chris spent the early part of his career with publishing brands such as The Financial Times and Euromoney Institutional Investor, before a move to BT where, as Product Manager on The Phone Book, he oversaw a number of critical projects. These included moving production of the directory in-house; the implementation of new advertising products and approaches, which significantly increased revenue; and the launch of colour advertising within The Phone Book. Elena Valcarcedirectora comercial de SEGITUR Elena Valcarce ocupa actualmente la dirección comercial de la Sociedad Estatal para la Gestión de la Innovación y las Tecnologías Turísticas, S.A (SEGITTUR), donde, entre otras funciones se encarga de gestionar el apoyo de la Administración Turística a la comercialización online de las empresas turísticas españolas. Valcarce, nacida en León en 1972 y diplomada en Empresa y Actividades Turísticas, tiene una amplia experiencia en el sector turístico, especialmente en el ámbito de los alojamientos. Entre los cargos que ha ocupado destaca la dirección comercial de marketing de la cadena Rafael Hoteles (1999-2005), y la dirección comercial y de marketing del Hotel Gran Meliá Fénix de Madrid (2005-2006). Asimismo, ha sido miembro de la Junta Rectora del Patronato de Turismo de Madrid. SEGITUR, fue constituida en octubre de 2002, con el objetivo de impulsar el uso de las nuevas tecnologías en el sector turístico, y entre otros proyectos destaca la gestión del portal oficial de turismo de España, www.spain.info.
Leonardo LlorenteDirector eCommerce, Barceló Viajes Involucrado en la industria de la distribución de viajes desde hace casi 10 años, Leonardo Llorente, tras su etapa el lanzamiento de Canal Satélite Digital en la Dirección de Marketing de Sogecable, comienza a trabajar en el Grupo Barceló en 1999 como Director de Nuevos Proyectos de Barceló Viajes, teniendo desde entonces gran vinculación con el desarrollo e implantación de proyectos Online, tanto internos como en relación con importantes agencias online como Rumbo. Hasta 2006 desempeña distintas funciones dentro de Barceló primero como Director de Nuevas Tecnologías y después como Subdirector de Marketing. Desde Enero 2006 es Director de E-Commerce de Barceló Viajes y responsable de la estrategia y comercialización de los canales online de la compañía, definiendo y coordinando nuevos desarrollos para B2C y B2B, ampliando los canales de marketing y venta online, y buscando oportunidades con colaboradores y nuevos agentes presentes en la cadena de decisión de compra. Leonardo es Licenciado en Dirección y Administración de Empresas por la Universidad de Deusto y Master en Dirección de Marketing por ESIC.
Bernhard A. Krupka studied travel and tourism business administration in Germany, and received his MBA from IESE, in Barcelona. He started his career at Arthur D. Little, the strategic management consultancy, in Berlin, Brussels and London, and was a founding member of the TTH Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Practice, leading the development of corporate strategy, with a special focus on electronic distribution. Already in 1994, he co-authored an article on the impact of the new technologies on the travel industry. Since then, the impact of new technologies and the development of corporate strategies to respond to the changes have been a constant in his professional career, with projects, studies and presentations literally all over the world.After having been a consultant for many years, he occupied management positions at e-travel of Amadeus in Madrid, TUI EspaƱa in Palma de Mallorca and clickair, Iberia Group, in Barcelona. He is now the head of the global tourism and hospitality practice at Daemon Quest in Barcelona, and counts the leading travel and hospitality brands amongst his clients, in Spain as well as in Europe. Now the business challenge has moved towards a clear focus on the client relationship, using technology as an enabler and a key driver in corporate strategy. |
